“Oh, Baby Joey,” said Mama Roo, wiping away a little roo tear from under Baby Joey’s big, sad eyes, “when I was a little roo, I took a long time to learn to potty train too.”

“You DID?!” asked Baby Joey, his big eyes getting bigger and drier by the second.

“And so did I!”, offered Daddy Roo who just at that moment, came hopping along towards them. “In fact, Mommy Roo and I have some tricks that will help you potty train in no time!”

Baby Joey nearly tripped over his own tail when he heard that even Daddy Roo had a difficult time learning how to potty train.

“YOU?!,” asked Baby Joey, “can you teach me your tricks so that I can learn to potty train too?!” exclaimed Joey, feeling a little less like a baby now and much more like a Big Boy Joey.

Mom goes back to her high school self and starts cheering for little Roo...

He's freaking out because he can't poo on the potty.
Yes, I know you can't say poo, but, work with me!

Mom realizes that he's stressing out over it, so she starts doing some cheering and singing to make him laugh and loosen up.

Eventually it is referred to in the house as, "Poo-Poo, Roo!" the musical.

And it always works. :)

Joey is afraid to use the potty. So Mama dresses up as Joey's favourite hero-Captain Kangaroo. Captain Kangaroo tells Joey the secret to conquering the potty—a trick he used when he was just a boy. Armed with Captain Kangaroo's trick Joey faces his fear and successfully uses the potty.

Baby Joey didn't like Potty time. He never seemed to get it right.
Sometimes Mama Roo put him on the potty and he and Mama would wait and wait for something to happen. Nothing would happen.

Sometimes, surprise, it was too late! Joey and Mama Roo oouldn't get to the potty fast enough.

"Don't worry, that's alright, Mama would say to Baby Joey, "we just need to practice!"
"What's PRACTICE?, " Joey asked.
"Practice is when we do something every day until we get good at it, said Mama Roo.
"I know,'" said Mama Roo, " lets play 'Potty Patrol'!
Here, put these on.
What are THESE? asked Joey.
"These are your very own Potty Pants," said Mama.
Baby Joey's Potty Pants were a beautiful blue.
Jokey liked the little airplanes that flew across the front.
"I get special potty Pants!" Baby Joey sang out.
You do! said Mama Roo,"Oh yes, you must have special Potty Pants. PottyPatrol is VERY special."
Baby Joey and Mama Roo went on Potty Patrol.

Is it time to go to the Potty now? Asked Mama Roo.
Do you FEEL like its time to go potty?"asked Mama Roo.
Baby Joey shook his head.
"No, Mama it doesn't FEEL like it's Potty Time.

A little while later Mama Roo asked Baby Joey.
Is it time to go to Potty now?
"No, Mama it doesn't feel like it's POTTY Time yet." said Baby Joey.

A while later Mama Roo asked Baby Joey.
"NOW Is it time to go Potty ?"

Baby Joey smiled.
"Yes, Mama! It FEELS like its time to potty!
I feel like its time to Potty now!"

"Hurray Joey boy, "said Mama Roo, "good job! This calls for a Potty Party!"
Baby Joey giggled. He was very happy he did such a good job on Potty Patrol

Mama Roo is anxious... all of the other baby roos are already potty trained! Had she done something wrong? Should she have started earlier? Would baby Roo ever catch on? *Sigh*

Sticker charts, M-n-Ms, every kind of potty seat... watching other kids go... watching mommy go... watching daddy go. Still, baby Roo didn't get it.

Lots of juice, lots of water, lots of sitting on the potty... and still nothing. Until he pulled his undies back up... then he'd go!

Baby Roo was sad. He wanted mommy to be happy. He wanted to be a big roo too... but he didn't know what to do.

"Baby Roo... I want you to know, that even if you never go pee in a potty... I love you just for being you. You'll get it!" Momma Roo stopped worrying about the other baby roos and what they were up to.

She hugged her baby roo and decided to start a little later...

"I wuv you too, mommy" said Roo, as he squeezed his mommy.

Just then he felt something... a tingle, and itch, a creeping...

"I gotta go!" says Roo... who begins a circling potty dance around mommy Roo.

They race to a potty and make it just in time.

YAY ROO!
