Meg has a pea in her nose. Mother grabs Stuffy the bear who also happens to have a pea snuck in his nose and gives the bear to Meg. She tells Meg that Stuffy is scared so Meg needs to be brave. It’s her job to keep Stuffy calm. At the hospital the doctor examines Stuffy first to show Meg what’s going to happen. Mother tells Meg that Stuffy wants to be brave for her now. Meg holds on to Stuffy and closes her eyes. The doctor successfully removes the pea snot and all. Ewww!

(My niece did this when she was little, but it was a raisin (not a pea) and it swelled up to the size of a small grape!)

It seemed like a good idea at the time, sticking that pea up her nose. (Peas, as you know, are the perfect size to fit up inside noses.) It was now bedtime and Meg had been able to keep the pea up her nose a secret; she managed not to tell her mom or dad or brother. As she settled in under the covers, she began to have dreams about the pea growing into a pea plant into her nose. First, it was just a little tickle of a curly sprout, and then a leaf or two until Meg found that she was engulfed and tied to her bed with pea shoots curling around her. Up from her dream, Meg knew she had just one choice; she had to tell her mom and dad. Meg threw off the covers running down the hallway shouting, “I have a pea up my NOOOOSSSEEEE!!!”

As I recall, the way the story goes
Little Meg stuck a pea up her nose
And when her mommy tried
Meg screamed and kicked and cried
Mom said we'll need a doctor I suppose.

"Oh no we WON'T, oh no, oh no no NO!
I will not, no I simply will NOT go!"
"Please, have a little trust dear
Oh Meg, we really must dear!"
So off they went to visit Dr. Ho.

Dr. Ho said, "Meggy hear me out,
I know you're terrified, you're filled with doubt.
I PROMISE not to hurt you and to PROVE it
I won't even TOUCH your nose when I remove it!"

SILENCE, Meg and Doctor, eye to eye
Would she be still at least and let him try?
She stood up on tippy toes
And slowly lifted up her nose
Then closed her eyes and gave a little sigh.

He took a pinch of pepper and he BLEW
Meg gave a GIANT sneeze, she said "ah-CHOO!"
They all cried "Yaaay! He DID it!"
Meg was happy to admit it
And they celebrated over bowels of stew! As I recall, the way the story goes
