Below are just a few of the books published by Mira's former students!
It's not just a writing workshop but a whole career camp!
And that's my passion! Helping folks not just publish one book but instead helping them create a sustainable children's book career creating many books over years to come. And once I work with you in an intensive way, the support keeps happening in all sorts of ways.
We'll have individual pre-camp Zoom critique meetings where I will help you edit one manuscript (normally $300 US, or $417 AUS outside of classes, when available) and help you identify which story or stories to focus on during the retreat (if time allows). And then we meet online February 26th where we'll have in-camp writing, workshopping, idea generating, critiquing, and career strategizing.

Prepare yourself for something unique and extraordinary!
No-one has done anything like this, and like much of what we've done, watch us get copied! But we are innovators, which is probably why so many of our students have now been published and won awards.
PLUS, if all goes well, I'll be moving back to Oz and can't wait to connect with kindred spirits and former students!
Full Cost for Event: $450 AUS for early birds before Febuary 4th!
Normally I'd charge $600 USD or over $834 AUSD for all the wonderful things you'll get in this special training (and even that is low for what you'll be receiving) but I'm hoping to move back to Oz, so I'm deeply discounting this to make some wonderful connections. Here's a price breakdown so you can see how much money you'll save!

Praise for Mira
Effie Koliopoulos ~ Mira is the editor you need to work with. Her approach to editing is intuitive and sensitive. She will tell you the truth and guide you towards the right path. Mira really wants to see her students, and people she works with individually, succeed. She also gets to know you as a person and takes time to understand your vision... I’m so grateful to have [had] the opportunity to work with one of the best (if not the best), in the business!
Susan Lynn-Rivera ~ After my critique with Mira and class information, I added much more personality to my MC, gave distinctive location features and offered a solution I liked better for my story problem. I think this has given the story a deeper meaning overall. I would recommend Mira … because not only does she bring a wealth of information with her that she's eager to share, but she is genuinely interested in helping a student succeed in their own right. And she is extremely kind.
Iris Oved ~ After Mira's critique, my non-fiction philosophical/science manuscript became much more playful and fun. Most importantly, I learned how to give a more quirky, childlike energy to my writing, and give my narrator a playful personality as well. Dr. Mira is a children's book wizard. Her input has taken my text a long way toward my goal of igniting curiosity in young children about their sensations and perceptions of the world.
Sandra Herrgott ~ During my two separate one-on-one critiques with Mira my manuscripts went from weak and unorganised to strong and clear with a twist. Mira was able to understand the intentions I had with each manuscript and guided me to a satisfactory outcome. Her writing skills and strong use of language made me love my manuscripts and I feel confident to go to the next level… I would encourage everyone, who has the opportunity, to take a one-on-one critique with Mira to do so. Her expertise and understanding of picture book writing is exceptional.
Stacey Ramey-Alleyne ~ Mira polished up my manuscript so that it's a fun dialogue involving gestures by the characters that really made the story come alive. I learnt the difference between telling a story vs story-telling. I also learnt how to effectively write dialogue between characters that makes the story interesting and exciting to read. Mira takes your manuscript from drab to fab by breathing life into your work. She's animated and fun to work with and genuinely enjoys working with you to make your story be the best it could be.
Pamela Taylor ~ Dr. Mira has an eye for targeting what is most important in a clear and concise way. She suggested a title change for my manuscript to make the book cover more appealing. She also was very adept at narrowing the word count without losing the heart of the story. I believe that the personal critique was instrumental in helping me receive a contract for my work. She respects and understands a writer's desire to hold on to those special parts of the manuscript that are most meaningful. The things I learned helped me along my writing journey as I look forward to my first published book. I would recommend seeking out Dr. Mira for a critique. Her experience and expertise make it easy to see why she is known as "The Book Whisperer!"
Nora Sawyer ~ Not only was my manuscript transformed, I came away with new ideas and a renewed sense of possibility. Working with Mira helped me see how and why I should edit my work, and the importance of word choice. Critiques with Mira have a magical way of bringing forth the ideas hidden away in the corners of your mind. Whether you've got a kernel of an idea or a fully fleshed-out manuscript, Mira helps make your work better.
Julie Fruitticher Schroeder ~ My two critiques with the marvelous Mira have been fantastic and encouraging. She packs more into an hour session than I believed was possible. Mira worked through my manuscript to help me reduce unnecessary wording, gave me tips on adding words that increased the heart of the story, and even advised me on how to make my bio and pitch more fun. She is a picture book powerhouse!
