Hello Alchemists, here's the video recording from our live webinar with Katie Carella, Hillary Homzie and me (Mira Reisberg). And to sweeten the pot, if you are interested in taking our Middle Grade Mastery course with this link starting February 29th with the 2 for one Middle Grade Mastery course Plus the Graphic Novels course, we'll also throw in the Fun with Social Media course for free and give you the $100.000 off special. All of these have close to a year's access, giving you plenty of time to really use them!!! Woot woot!! ~ Meanwhile here's the webinar, which was lots of fun and will hopefully be helpful for all of you.
And as promised, here are our webinar notes. Katie was unable to put hers with original pitches but you guys can scan for them in the comments below or not as you'll still learn from them.
Please post your 60 word chapter book pitch right here before February 10th for our live pitch critique fest on Saturday the 13th at 12PM Pacific/3PM Eastern (URL coming soon). I will randomly choosing 5-7 each for Scholastic Senior Editor Katie Carella (she's young but incredibly smart), Hillary Homzie (not so young but also incredibly smart) and myself (I don't even want to go there) to critique so you have a good shot at getting a mini critique. And even if you don't, you'll learn a lot from hearing others. Then in mid March you'll rewrite/resubmit your pitch and Katie will choose two that she'd like to hear more from. Easy peasy, lots of fun. Remember to use wonderful language choices and a sense of intrigue or mystery to hook the reader in so that they want to know more about your story. Fingers crossed for you.
