I love the sweetness of Spring. Ripening fruit, blossoming flowers, and new beginnings. Spring also makes me think of Paris and today's picture book review looks at Angela Dominguez's written and illustrated picture book as a great example of how to write a children's picture book as well as how to illustrate one. It is a classic plot-driven story set in Pareee of how a young bird learns to overcome it's fear of flying and embrace it's true nature (something many of us struggle with :) Angela is a children's book illustration instructor at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and a contributor to the Picture Book Academy's Craft and Business of Illustrating Children's Picture Books interactive e-Course :) Have a watch and if you are up for it please comment. I'm sure Angela would love it. 12/28/2022 01:12:48 pm
Enhancing the storytelling: Illustrations in children's books can help to bring the story to life and enhance the overall reading experience. They can help to convey mood, atmosphere, and character development in a way that words alone might not be able to. 4/8/2024 04:45:01 am
